Hands-on AI research experience, mentoring, and KRW 10 million scholarship awarded to selected fellows; Applications accepted from December 5 to 22, followed by a rigorous multi-stage selection process.
SEOUL – DEC. 5, 2025 – KRAFTON, Inc. today opened applications for the fourth batch of the ‘KRAFTON AI Fellowship Program,’ which identifies and nurtures the most outstanding undergraduate talents in artificial intelligence.
Established in 2022, the KRAFTON AI Fellowship Program is an industry-leading initiative designed to nurture the next generation of AI talent. It is open to undergraduate students from universities in Korea and abroad[1]. The program identifies and trains top-tier candidates through a rigorous multi-stage selection process consisting of an application screening, online test, offline test, and final interview. Each stage presents advanced challenges spanning the full spectrum of AI – from theoretical foundations to real-world applications. Applications will be accepted from December 5 to 22, and five fellowship members will be selected.
All fellows will join the ‘KRAFTON AI Research Internship’ from June to August 2026. During the internship, fellows will conduct research and develop related papers under the guidance of distinguished AI professors in Korea and overseas, as well as researchers at KRAFTON AI. If a research paper is accepted to a top-tier machine learning conference during the internship period, and the intern is the first or a co-first author, KRAFTON will support conference registration fees and associated travel expenses. Selected AI Fellowship members will receive a KRW 10 million research scholarship, along with an additional stipend for the internship period at a level comparable to full-time employment.
Kangwook Lee, Head of KRAFTON AI, said, “KRAFTON is committed to providing KRAFTON AI fellows with structured, high-quality opportunities for growth, including advanced education, mentoring, and real-world research experience,” adding, “We encourage students who aspire to become top leaders in the AI field to apply.”
Since its founding in 2022, KRAFTON AI has focused its research and development across five core areas – Language Models, Multi-modal Learning[2], Reinforcement Learning, Generative AI, and Data-centric AI – to enhance the core fun of gaming and improve the efficiency of game development. This year, KRAFTON AI published 15 papers across the world’s top three AI conferences: NeurIPS, ICML, and ICLR, demonstrating its global research competitiveness.
Over the past three years, the first to third batch of the KRAFTON AI Fellowship Program has produced a total of nine papers, six of which have been published at ICML and ICLR. Notably, a second-batch fellow’s first-author paper was selected as an ICLR Spotlight[3], earning recognition for its outstanding innovation.
